Olivet University

Biblical Higher Education

Olivet University is a private Christian institution founded to prepare men and women for lives of leadership, ministry, and service. Grounded in biblical faith, Olivet provides an education that nurtures both the heart and the mind, uniting spiritual growth with academic excellence. Since its establishment, the university has remained dedicated to equipping servant-leaders who strive to live out their faith with purpose, humility, and wisdom.

A Foundation Built on Faith

The university’s origins date back to 2000, when it was founded as the Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS). Created to train believers for global missions, OTCS provided theological education and practical training for ministry-minded students worldwide. Through both on-campus and distance learning programs, the seminary quickly became a beacon for those seeking to strengthen their knowledge of Scripture and their commitment to service.

In 2004, under the vision and leadership of the late Dr. Ralph D. Winter, the seminary transitioned into Olivet University. Dr. Winter, a respected missionary strategist and educator, envisioned an institution where faith and scholarship would thrive together. His goal was to build a “sanctuary of truth,” a place where students could explore academic disciplines while deepening their spiritual convictions. The university’s transformation represented more than a name change; it became a movement dedicated to preparing Christian leaders for a wide range of professions.

A Place for Spiritual and Academic Growth

The main campus of Olivet University is located in the serene Anza Valley of California. Its peaceful setting offers students the opportunity to reflect, study, and grow in an environment shaped by prayer and community. The university’s expansion into major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, St. Louis, Orlando, Nashville, and Washington, D.C., reflects its ongoing mission to make Christ-centered education accessible to students nationwide.

At Olivet, education is about more than academics; it is a calling. Every program is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and moral grounding needed to serve others. Faculty members are dedicated not only to teaching but to mentoring students, helping them integrate biblical truth into their studies and future careers. With small class sizes and a supportive atmosphere, Olivet fosters an environment where faith and learning grow together.

Living Out the Mission

Faith is at the heart of daily life at Olivet University. Students participate in chapel services, prayer meetings, and small-group Bible studies that strengthen their relationship with God and foster a sense of unity within the community. These spiritual practices remind students that authentic leadership begins with a servant’s heart.

Service is an essential part of the Olivet experience. Students are encouraged to live out their faith through volunteer work, mission projects, and community outreach. Whether serving in local food drives, participating in charity events, or assisting churches with ministry programs, Olivet students learn that education and service go hand in hand. These experiences prepare them to make meaningful contributions wherever God leads them.

Continuing the Legacy

Today, Olivet University continues to fulfill its mission of integrating faith, education, and service. Its graduates serve across the world as pastors, educators, nonprofit leaders, and professionals who embody Christ-centered values in their work. Many alums remain connected to the university, mentoring current students and continuing the cycle of faith-driven leadership.

Olivet stands as a living testimony to its founding vision, a place where faith inspires learning, learning strengthens faith, and service transforms lives. Through its dedication to academic excellence and spiritual formation, Olivet University continues to empower students to lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and make a lasting impact for God’s glory.
